Happy Fourth!!

Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, Happy birthday 'Merica!  Complete day for the Dillards--smoked ribs, banana pudding (made so much quicker with my new KitchenAid mixer--whohoo), and fireworks....lots and lots of fireworks!

After a great lunch and an extra long and late nap, we threw bedtime out the window and headed to Nolensville's big, fantastic, and ever-so-patriotic fourth of July festival.  This year, we were prepared--lawn chairs, wagon, and a cooler.  Go Dad!

We needed a little attitude adjusting early on.  Max wasn't super fond of the long lines for the kids play area, but he quickly realized that the wait was inevitable.  So, the five seconds of excitement began to overshadow the waiting.  Note to self--we will NOT be visiting Disney World anytime soon!
That slide must really, really be worth it, huh?

Let the fireworks begin!  Pizza and burgers, topped with snowcones and popcorns later, we are ready to go.  And THEN we realized that the lights have gone out and Max is without his Teva flip flops...No worries, though.  Brandon found them on the baseball field in the pitch dark.  He apparently has x-ray vision!  Fingers in ears and sweating to death--that completes our night!
Thanks to the Hunters for being great sports!  Max, the hater of all pictures, decided that he wanted to get in their family photo.  He just really, really loves Baby Tarzan!
Happy July 4th to all!!  What a fun night for us...and thankful that the 10:30 bedtime is NOT a normal occurance!!
