Markers in Perspective

This morning has been one of those mornings--you know, the woke up two hours early, the bread is gone, and I got to the gym without my membership card. Oh, the drama-ha! Then I get home to Brandon, who is exhausted from being up since 5am and running six miles, and to a Max, who is well, in rare Max form. So, all over the place at jet speed. I mean, come on, Mom, it's Saturday!

In the midst of breakfast making and kitchen cleaning, my hubby has slipped away to get a few more winks of sleeps, and I find an-almost-three-year-old that is colored HEAD to TOE in Crayola markers. Thanks, Marmie, the artistic enabler. A few huffs from me and a kiss from Max later, I'm chilled and Max is clean (thankfully, they were washable).

I headed out to the pool while the boys were napping and heard this on my iPod. Not sure about you, but I needed this today! All markers aside, I'm thankful for my chaos and those in my life that help me to create it:)

I lost my keys in the great unknown
And call me please 'Cuz I can't find my phone

This is the stuff that drives me crazy
This is the stuff that's getting to me lately
In the middle of my little mess
I forget how big I'm blessed
This is the stuff that gets under my skin
But I gotta trust You know exactly what You're doing
It might not be what I would choose
But this is the stuff You use

45 in a 35
Sirens and fines while I'm running behind

This is the stuff that drives me crazy
This is the stuff that's getting to me lately
In the middle of my little mess
I forget how big I'm blessed
This is the stuff that gets under my skin
But I gotta trust You know exactly what You're doing
It might not be what I would choose
But this is the stuff You use

So break me of impatience
Conquer my frustrations
I've got a new appreciation
It's not the end of the world
the middle of my little mess
