Yesterday was a big day for the Dillards--we spent our morning checking out Max's new preschool and getting to know some of the kids in his class. So, we are all prepped with a new haircut and some snazzy new tennis shoes.
The shoes were pretty necessary, as Max only has one pair of church shoes and a million flip flops from the summer...and we all know I love an opportunity to expand a shoe collection:) Brandon has the bright idea to let Max pick his shoes, but after a little coaching from Mom, he decided on the blue Nikes because they looked "fast" like Raoul the Racecar from Cars. Did I mention that I can be wildly persuasive?
The boys had some man time after school, as I headed to the Pi to get a bit of work done. And, of course, I got a fun little treasure from Brandon soonafter. Pretty random picture, so I do the only natural thing and ask Brandon where they are....any guesses??
Um, yes, Brandon took my child to a pawn shop. Why does that seem so strange to me? I also heard that they ventured to the donut shop, the train depot and Fazolis. How can I possibly compete with that??
Another funny (well, not so much funny for me) from the week: I had a painful run-in with a 20" wooden box during my workout on Tuesday and apparently attempted to break my legs at the shins. Max has been really torn up about my "really, really big boo-boos" as he calls them. At first, he tried to cover them in Lightning McQueen bandaids, then he wanted to wash them off in the bathtub to make them "feel much better", and last night his idea was to go see Dr. Leeper.
So, I appreciate the sympathy from my little man...he has such a sweet heart! A wild and energetic heart, but sweet nonetheless:)
