See Mom Run!!

Can you believe it?? I RAN 13.1 MILES!!
Ha ha, right? I've always been athletic, but a runner---I am not! But, I had the chance to raise some money for a little boy, Carson Daniel, for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Carson and his family go to our church and he was diagnosed with Burkitt's Lymphoma last July. Luckily, Carson is happy, healthy, and in remission, but I just thought there had to be more that I could do other than alternate cooking dinners for him with our Sunday School class.

A word of advice, if you ever have the opportunity to do anything like this--it is well worth it! I raised almost $2,000 for the LLS in Carson's honor. But, it was the most rewarding experience that I have ever participated in! Literally--and I've done lots of community service projects over the years.

It was sooo hard! I trained since December, along with a great team and the most awesome running buddy ever, Courtney Baker. We took every step together! There were many times after hitting a cement wall at 10 miles that I begged Courtney to leave me--but, she grabbed my hand and pulled me to the finish line! What a friend I have found:)

The hardest part??? Running with 36,000 other people and trying to outrun the rain! I had pictured in my mind that I would cross the finish line and fall into the arms of my boys...well, not so much. I had to search for them, and by the time I found them--Max was DONE. So funny how that works:)
