It is the social event of Lawrence County, so we just had to take the family to the Middle Tennessee District Fair in Lawrenceburg this week. Believe it or not, other than a quick once-around the midway when he was just over a year old, he's never been. So, we took a mini-roadtrip home:)
Marmie's school was parking cars at Technicraft, so we picked up Papa and headed to eat. Papa's short dinner with us at the fair turned into a night of waiting in line with us--we're so glad that he stayed:) After thinking Max might not been too fond of the fair rides, we quickly realized that we were all mistaken. He would've stayed all night long:)
| Our first taste of cotton candy of the night...I have strong suspicion that there is still cotton candy hidden in corners of the house! |
And speaking of the level of sticky on this kid from his small suitcase of cotton candy coupled with the grossness of fair rides, I was thinking that we'd all be sick soon. It's amazing how you realize how completely old you feel when a trip to the fair has you cringing at the germ-infested safety harnesses and questioning about how diligently these rides really were put together---years ago that never would have even crossed my mind!
| Max waited so patiently for this guy to give him a potato sack for the slide. And this was even the third time down. He loved it! |
So, all in all--it was a perfect night! However, Sarah is the one that took the brunt of all the fair fun. After his sugar-induced coma, this is what Sarah sends to me at work on Friday....poor thing:)
