Whew!

Can I just say, that I'm tired? Max's energy level has my head spinning these days-ha! I'll try to get you guys up to speed on the past couple of weeks...there has been little sleep involved, so fasten your seatbelts!

Let's just say that vacation should accompany an extra week of vacation for recovery. We came home rested and tanned, but two weeks off school THEN an additional week of vacation for Max means slow to get back in the swing of things. Our first two days back at MDO were less than fun--for anyone, I think. But we're getting there, slowly but surely. No tears on Wednesday, FINALLY! We are in a MAJOR "I love my Mommy" phase...which can be oh-so adorable, and the reason for my exhaustion at the same time. He is giving fantastic kisses these days...lots of them!

If you know me well, you know that I'm a planner. So, for months I have been preparing for the day that we went to a big boy bed. Not planning as far as how to make the transition easier for Max (or myself), but how to make his room "cute". Mistake #1. So, one Saturday night as Max hurdled his crib and ended up yelling at Brandon and I from the top of the stairs,

that meant that our Sunday would include putting up a new bed. Point #1--I was prepared with a bed, bedding, and all the necessities. Mistake #2: was not prepared for finding Max's old paci stash underneath his crib mattress, along with other sweet surprises that made me cry:( My little boy is growing up!

Max was so proud of his new bed! And slept wonderfully for two nights! Mistake #3: Brandon and I got cocky, thinking the worst was over. Wrong, wrong, oh so very, very wrong. Since we're trying to let him cry it out and not sleep with him, our nights have been interesting. Please pray this passes....you also know how much I need my sleep.

And the funny ironic part of it is that Max hasn't slowed a bit. Yikes.

Here are some of the set-up pictures. Mistake #4: always send Max to Marmie and Papa's house anytime we are assembling something this large. Although he wants so badly to be helpful, the four sets of hands and roadrunner speed legs are not a great combination with small metal parts needed for construction.

I'm also sticking in this picture of Max and Jared playing at the Peekabo Playhouse in the...ah hem, KITCHEN. Brandon is super-weird about a kitchen set for Max and it just makes me laugh. All those peices just make him happy. And, I'm just glad that all those 473 individual peices aren't in my house!

Love keeping up with you via your blog and Courtney B! HA I am assuming the wooden bats are for a bed? I can't wait to see pics of that!! Love all the cute pics of Max. I will be honest, I don't just say that any child, or baby is cute just to be nice, but Max really is a cutie! I don't have to tell you that though! Take care and keep in touch! Oh, thanks for the advice about the camera, I love it and am learning lots!
