We are Thankful!!

Whew--where has the time gone? I should be fired for my non-blogging lately, but things are bonkers, literally. Brandon has been travelling alot and that makes for one tired ME! But, we are managing and smiling through it:)

We all LOVE this time of year...no complaints about the cold here. I love the leaves, the weather, and the hats and coats. But, I'm rewinding a few weeks to give you all a glimpse of our November. We made a few trips to the pumpkin patch to let Max see the animals. But, he was way more interested in being free and running and running and RUNNING! Whew, he makes me tired...have I said that before??
We tried our hand at potty training before the little man starting running from me when I would take him to the bathroom. I finally just came to the conclusion that when he's ready, it won't be so hard. He is NOT a fan of the potty...he will straight up tell you "no". And, I have yet to find his bribery price. So, we are waiting until then. But, how funny is this picture?? He will HATE me when he gets older:)
Back to the pumpkin patch... Isn't this train just the cutest? Max thought it was great! The funny back story to the whole train ride was the "funny" old man that drove it. I ran up with Max at the last minute to grab the last car and handed him $2. And he says, "it's based on weight, so it's$20." He obviously meant it as a joke--especially since he looked to be in his third trimester, but I was NOT amused at all. Just because you're over 70 doesn't give you the right to joke about a woman's weight. Geez!
Halloween was so fun! I figure that this was my last year to pick Max's costume before we started having to be a superhero (and you all know that I am NOT excited about that), so I found the funniest costume online. Brandon was so opposed to the garden gnome seeing as how he's not a super tall guy, but I thought it was hilarious. Well, the beard stayed on for about five seconds and I didn't even try the eyebrows. Have you ever tried to put fake hair on a two-year old?? The picture of him in the flowerbed just about did me in...I think I'll be able to live with the next few years of superheros after seeing that. I felt like he's was starring in a Travelocity commercial:)
Thanksgiving was a bit of a whirlwind, but it was wonderful! We ran over to Memphis for a few days to visit my college best friend, Erin, and her family. She has twin girls, Mattie and Hailey, and they live in Galveston, so we don't see them oftem:( The kiddos were so funny...I love seeing them, and I love the fact that our lives are chaos now. I can't wait until they are back in Memphis. Three hours is alot easier than 12!!
And Max found the tupperware stash in the hotel. There is never a dull moment!!
On our way back to Nashville, we stopped in to my Aunt Joy's to have Thankgiving dinner with the entire West Tennessee crew. We had such a wonderful time with them! Loved letting Max run and play with all his cousins:) The best part of the big holiday is that Brandon, Max, and I spent it all together. It's been a crazy busy few weeks, and it's sometimes hard to stop and count your blessings in the midst of everyday life. But, I'm glad that we were able to slow down and do
just that! One of my favorite verses, "give thanks to the Lord, for he is good. His love endures forever!" What a wonderful celebration of thanksgiving!!
Here are a few funnies of our home in the transition of getting ready for all those Christmas decorations...
