Ah, Thanksgiving...I am so happy to see you. Partly because I am really thankful and partly because this means that my husband is home for a solid week. I am a new woman!
We are spending the holiday celebrating as a family of three...although never quiet around here, after weeks and weeks of traveling, it is nice to all be together for longer than 48 hours. Food, football, and I'm not even going to complain about the imminent sinus infection in my head right now:)
Over the last year, the Lord has been hard at work in my heart about priorities and control, and although I remain a work in progress, I am so very thankful for the everyday chaos that Brandon and I live in. So, I'm counting my blessings--naming them one by one.
--So thankful for my husband in everything that he is to me and everything that he does for me. He is a balance to me that no one could ever match.
--So blessed for the family that we have created with Max. He is an infinite source of strong wills and spirit, but I am so thankful for the zeal he has that will prepare him for this world we live in. And for the amazing simplistic perspective that he has given me.
--I continue to be thankful for parents that raised me to be respectful, deliberate, and independent. Thanks for teaching me to talk less and listen more....seems I still have work to do.
--For my family, that although scattered across miles and miles, has taught me to appreciate the time we spend together...and let's not forget two of the sweetest nephews that I wish I got to kiss on more:(
--For a vivacious aunt, who I have watched stare cancer directly in the face without wincing. For her continued strength, hope, and reliance on our Great Physician.
--For Brandon's work--that we have weathered such a economic storm in his industry and have remained intact!
--For a job, working for an organization that I believe so strongly in, and for a boss that has supported me through so many transitions in my life.
--For three of the greatest girlfriends that act as phenomenal cheerleaders, therapists, and/or partners in crime...
--For New Vision Baptist Church...it was definitely not what we thought we were looking for on the outside, but every word I've heard from Pastor Brady has been such a blessing to our family. We are in the right place at the right time are slowly coming around to a less-traditional style of worship:)
--For grace. Lots and lots and lots of grace. I don't deserve it in any way, shape, or form, but I'm forever indebted for the repeated grace God gives me everyday!
--For early morning workouts, seasons that change, Hakuna Matata, allergy medicine, blue play dough, dance parties in the kitchen, my Kitchen Aid mixer, the occasional pedicure, four-wheeler rides in my parents' backyard, and date nights with my hubby....all things that make me smile.
